  • Riverside suntrap in the Severn valley
  • River Severn fishing rights included on site
  • A short riverside stroll from Stourport-on-Severn
Popular, pretty, in a riverside suntrap in the spectacular Severn Valley and with its own Severn fishing rights… one could lock oneself away here for some considerable time. Lincomb Lock Caravan Park is next to the lock on the River Severn that gives the park its name and is protected by a sandstone escarpment sheltering the site from cooler weather: suntan seekers, this is the place for you. It's all a placid riverside stroll from the canal town of Stourport-on-Severn and near fathoms of fishing opps on the nearby river and pools; the park also has its own River Severn fishing rights for those angling to land roach, bream, perch, chub, carp, barbel and more slippery sorts. (For other activities, Glades Leisure Centre and Shatterford Fishery are within easy driving distance of Lincomb Lock Caravan Park, or ask the staff about the many options for outdoor pursuits in the area like horse riding, mountain biking and golf.) The spotless park amenities at Lincomb Lock include separate bathrooms each with shower, sink and toilet; a meadow with pond is on site for picnics and general sunbathing/lazing about. Please note that that Lincomb Lock operates an adults-only policy on its touring and camping field and no-one under the age of 16 may stay on this part of the park.

Liked: Pitches nice and clean

Disliked: Pitches at side of a busy car park, security lights on when it gets dark and stay on all night pointing towards the pitches, very noisy with cars in and out. And in the morning they were cutting down trees and chipping them. Explained this to the people running it and got a refund. Booked into another sight in the Cotswolds

From the manager: Thank you, Adrian and Joanne, for leaving a review.
When you arrived, you asked to be placed on another pitch which we did.
The carpark is in front of the touring pitches, but to say noisy, I disagree, as do many other happy customers. The security light has been up for over 2 years, and nobody has ever complained about it shining onto the pitches or that it is causing any disturbance.
Unfortunately, sometimes maintenance work does need to be carried out, if we had known before your arrival, that the tree was to be cut down during your stay, we would have contacted you. Our other customers were understanding and happy with our response. We did give you a refund and apologised for the unplanned disturbance.
Wishing you all the very best from
Zoë, John and the Lincomb team.

Liked: Lovely well kept site with fully serviced level pitches. Friendly welcome upon arrival with good info on the local area and pubs etc.
The meadow dog walking area is beautiful and a credit to the team who look after it.
Very peaceful at night and slept well.
Shower block immaculately clean.

Disliked: Quite a lot of noise during the day when sitting outside trying to relax with two leaf blowers going at it, and disturbed at 8:20am on Monday morning by tree surgeons with chain saws and tree chipper. Ok if a tree is in need of attention but 8:20 in the morning is a bit thoughtless. I wouldn’t even mow my lawn at that time never mind fire up an industrial wood chipper.

Liked: Lovely clean and well kept site. Welcomed by a warden even though after hours arrival. Quiet site backing onto a stream that was lovely to listen to when in bed. Facilities though not used by us were clean. Grey water and chemical waste disposal easily accessible. Close to a fabulous farm shop.

Disliked: Nothing a great site.

Local attractions

Stroll along the canal to the town of Stourport-on-Severn (and past moored boats that will make you seethe/weep with envy) for shops, restaurants and a riverside recreation area with pleasure rides, crazy golf, bowling, putting greens and self-drive boats. Stourport was once a thriving inland port, and the Stourport Canal Basins tell the tale of their heyday in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. They've recently been restored and now have pubs, cafés and restaurants to sup in and watch the boats going through the locks, as well as their five basins with listed houses and warehouses alongside around a hundred narrowboats and yachts. Also nearby for heritage hunters are the Severn Valley Railway, Bewdley Working Museum, Hartlebury Castle (with the Worcestershire County Museum), Witley Court and Harvington Hall. Ancientness of a natural sort is highly recommended at Wyre Forest, while wildlife hunters can trek around the West Midlands Safari Park for over 165 species, a safari drivethrough and a theme park.
