  • Peaceful Worcestershire site between River Severn and Droitwich Canal
  • A 10-minute drive from Worcester; West Midland Safari Park 20 minutes
  • River fishing available for an extra charge; next to a bus route
With stunning views over mixed countryside in the pretty county of Worcestershire, Mill House is home to a range of well-maintained pitches and some good amenities, including a toilet block, showers and a handy washing-up area for your pots and pans. Its location also helps it to stand out, as the site is between the scenic River Severn and the Droitwich Canal, a quick 10-minute drive from the centre of historic Worcester and next to an attractive marina. Mill House is a chilled-out kind of place – one where you're welcome to bring dogs along to join the family break and barbecues are permitted for some alfresco eats. Supermarkets, butchers and other amenities are just a short drive down the A449, making it simple to source provisions for your stay. There’s also a local bus route a short distance away, so it's easy to leave the car back at base and get out and about in the local area. Fancy a spot of angling? At Mill House, river fishing is available for an extra fee. There are also plenty of walks and cycling trails along the waterways and in the surrounding countryside to explore during your time here.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Not much tbh

Disliked: Smell of cannabis in reception, staff tried to overcharge me, told me to find my Own pitch and as with friends park on there pitches to stop others taking it, I did this and was met with a shower of abuse by someone else who wanted those pitches and reconded he'd reserved them then started being aggressive in front of my 2 year old. I hitched back up and was ready to leave as tbh the main field seemed a bit rough with traveller style vans around and pitched very close together. We found field b which seemed a bit quieter but felt like the storage yard overflow area but there were the amount of pitches we needed so thought let's try it. All riverside pitches were already full with seasonal vans and as the day went on the already small pitches got overtook by several Units on each pitch even pitched right next to the elsan point. Kids riding at you whilst on way to toilet or fill water, kids being drove round the site behind a car in a trailer with no regard for safety. Constant power cuts due to people using air fryers but even though I explained I'd put everything over to gas instead of 240v we got told to stop overloading the electric. If a factory fit caravan battery charger is tripping. It you got big problems. Loos were blocked on last day, you are asked to take anything other than food waste home, kids playground was very tired and broken, blow up football goal got took over by yobs and ended up with a caravan window getting broken, boats in marina look abandoned elsan point is just loose manhole cover over a sespit so could easily be a trap for a curious child. Unedited Eminem songs being played in the toilets for kids to hear wasn't really appropriate. Wifi signal was useless. Road noise was quite bad but you can get that anywhere. Certainly a site I won't be visiting again Im afraid. It has the potential to be a really Nice high end site so it's sad to see.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Activities for the kids with it being bank holiday. Very clean and the bins were emptied regularly. Clean and hot showers with slip mats.
Great value bar and takeaway on site. Very friendly and helpful staff.
10 minute drive to any amenities needed.

Disliked: The noise at night time when you try and get children to sleep with people shutting late at night and you can hear road noise WiFi you will have to pay for, but if you are there a couple of days it’s not bad value.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Mill House Campsite offers a tranquil setting nestled between the River Severn and the Droitwich Canal, providing picturesque views and a peaceful atmosphere. The site is well-maintained, featuring clean toilet and shower facilities, as well as a convenient washing-up area. Its proximity to Worcester city center (a 10-minute drive) and nearby attractions like the West Midland Safari Park makes it an excellent base for exploring the area. The campsite is dog-friendly and allows barbecues, enhancing the outdoor experience. Additionally, river fishing is available for an extra fee, and there are ample walking and cycling trails nearby.

Disliked: Additionally, while Wi-Fi is available, it comes at a small fee, which may be inconvenient for some visitors

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Showers nice and clean.
Friendly and helpful staff at reception.

Disliked: Would be lovely to add playground facilities suitable for older children too. I'd suggest the park is only for very young children.
Only get 15mins free WiFi then there's a £3.50 charge per day. No mobile signal in the fields so people may feel necessary to pay this.
Would have liked veggie options advertised at the food van.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: I'm sorry you felt this way about the £3.50 charge an our play facilities. Our internet is an outside company I don't have any control over it this had to happen to get signal in the fields we did have bouncy castles up all day on Saturday for the older children there is also a games room with pool tables and extra games I will let the food truck guys know about the veggie options this is also an outside company and his first time here with a smaller menu but will definitely put your thoughts across

Local attractions

As it's just a few miles to the north of Worcester (10 minutes' drive), you're sure to want to get into the city to visit attractions like Worcester Cathedral (with its famous Norman Crypt), the timber-framed Tudor House Museum, the Royal Worcester Museum with its extensive porcelain collection and Worcester Woods Country Park (out of town, 15 minutes’ drive), which is great for a picnic or dog walk. Slightly further afield, a half-hour drive will get you into the midst of the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a green and grassy range of peaks with lots of hikes to choose from. Head in the opposite direction for a day trip to Kinver Edge (half an hour), an elevated sandstone ridge and ancient hillfort with far-reaching views. Got kids who need to be kept entertained? Cadbury World (40 minutes) on the edge of Birmingham is sure to prove popular with sweet-toothed tiddlers. Other good options in the vicinity of Mill House include the West Midland Safari Park (20 minutes) and Full Throttle Raceway (half an hour), where there's a separate mini track for young children.
