  • Beaches in Charmouth and Lyme Regis around 20 minutes' drive away
  • Well-maintained amenities including heated shower block
As most folk know, country rambles are an absolute must when holidaying in Dorset. So it's most fortuitous that Oathill Farm Holiday and Touring Park's lovely location allows for easy access to many human- and dog-friendly walks. Not only do these start straight from the site, they go along public footpaths and a network of country lanes, over bridges and rivers to local beauty spots like Forde Abbey House and Gardens, Pilsdon Pen and Wayford Woods. The family crew at Oathill have been running things in a relaxed, friendly and well-kept manner for years at their neatly landscaped site, set over 10 acres of Dorset countryside, with landscaped ponds and separate designated recreational and dog walking areas. All of this provides a peaceful environment for guests, in keeping with the stunning local Dorset landscapes such as the seaside scenery of Lyme Regis, 12 miles away. The team prides itself on the standard of its facilities and amenities: guests have the use of a heated toilet and shower block, a washing-up area, a washer and a dryer. As there is no shop or café on site, take a 10-minute drive to Crewkerne to grab groceries at the nearest shop.

Liked: Lovely quiet dog friendly site - small and welcoming. The owner met me on arrival and was very helpful. Fellow guests were friendly. The site is beautiful, with its own small lake. Nicely spaced large pitches. Lots of walking nearby from the site, which is why I chose it. In one direction the path takes you past some beautiful and very inquisitive emu 🙂

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Very well kept site. A friendly greeting when we arrived. A quiet site with only the occasional sound of a train horn in the distance. We would certainly stay again when we are in the area.

Disliked: Very little, maybe the addition of a stool in the showers would be good, but very minor. Also ran out of paper towels in the toilets, maybe a hot air dryer to prevent this.

Liked: Everything, a lovely spot, clean and hot showers. Friendly wardens but they leave you to your peace.
A short drive to Lyme Regis, Bridport, Charmouth and Weymouth.
If you're bringing children bring things to do as there's no play area.

Liked: Very well maintained site, beautiful views, nice and peaceful in the countryside but felt safe. Lovely friendly welcoming couple. Hubby forgot his hay fever tablets, asked if I could buy any and they bought one straight away to us which was super helpful! It’s the little things that make a big difference, Thank you so much, we will be back :-)
