Liked: Great views, easy to access from Southampton - first time camping so close to home meant we could get a pretty affordable taxi home (Uber covers this area!)
Peaceful, very inquisitive cows in the field next door, plus sheep and horses as part of the working farm gave the site a lovely charm especially with the calves peering out from behind the toilet hut.
Communal area was a nice touch with two fire pits. Composting toilet meant minimal smell, plus a shower and water point covers everything you need. Pitch / field in general was level with a very good clear view East and dappled shade in the West
We came to watch the Perseids meteor shower as it's very close to Old Winchester Hill which is one of the dark sky conservation areas in Hampshire, and we got a great show.
Hosts were friendly, responsive and accomodating!

Liked: We were after something quiet and in the countryside, with a shower and loo, the campsite provided that. Views lovely. Firepit was lovely. Shower great. It was good to see a happy family enjoying themselves too. Good local pubs and countryside & river walks. Excellent information and communication from owner.
Disliked: When we arrived we were disappointed. Barbed wire on high entrance gate was uninviting, hedge was overgrown too, grass too long, loads of prickly thistles in the grass and we almost turned back. Glad we did not as we enjoyed ourselves and the onsite facilities were absolutely fine. Some simple attention to cutting the grass (very wet feet in morning), cutting back the hedges and making the entrance more welcoming, sign perhaps? Tidying up the area around the shower (which was lovely) and WC, maybe a little post and rail fence around it would help make this a lovely little camp site. Good luck :)

Priced about right for the basic facilities. I would stay again.

Liked: Quiet campsite with good view. Plenty of space and no designated pitches. Easy to find with what three words and good communication from the owner. Excellent pubs within 20 minutes walk.
Disliked: Could do with a slightly larger shower so that fresh cloths can be more easily taken, maybe make it a little bigger for a bench. This would also help parents with children.
