  • Small dog-friendly site the banks of the river Severn
  • Adjacent to the Severn Way and half an hour’s walk from the canal
  • Wildlife haven within walking distance of pubs and Frampton on Severn
Craving a peaceful time filled with wildlife watching, long walks and relaxing by the water? On the banks of the River Severn and part of a working family farm with lots of livestock, Baldwin’s Brook Glamping in Gloucestershire fits the bill. This small site is a wildlife haven adjacent to the Severn Way, a long-distance trail that traces the river downstream. Birdwatching prospects are excellent here, and there’s plenty of peace if you’d rather sit and relax by a firepit or check out the stunning views and sunsets. From the farm, it’s a 45-minute walk to Frampton on Severn, which is home to the longest village green in England and the lively Frampton Country Fair (think funfair… and 400 stalls full of good stuff). Baldwin’s Brook Glamping is also half an hour’s walk away from the Cotswold Canal Trust Visitor Centre by the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal if you’d like to take a boat trip or sip a coffee by the canal. When you'd rather have a chilled beer, two pubs are within half a mile of the site (only 10 minutes’ walk away). Strike up a conversation with a local about the next Severn Bore, the huge tidal wave that races for 25 miles from Awre to Gloucester down the estuary just a handful of times per year. If you feel you haven’t done quite enough walking yet, the 102-mile Cotswold Way can be tracked down about 15 to 20 minutes’ drive away from the site; it passes by Berkeley Castle, which is otherwise a 20-minute drive away.

Fully-serviced gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked: A very relaxed site with just 3 pitches & 2 Glamping pods. Met the owner on the last day, checked in online & felt welcomed & trusted. James answered my questions about fishing & walking & locality of pubs promptly via email a few days before we went so we had a good idea of where to go & what to do. Wildlife haven at the site & all around with access to the canal & river for lovely walks - luckily the weather has been kind & not much mud to be found

Disliked: The road by the site is a 60 limit even though it’s a country lane! A fair few idiots driving & biking past made us a little uneasy - James said they’re petitioning to reduce it to a 30 & I’d be very happy to offer support for that!

Fully-serviced gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked: Peaceful, good gravel pitch, facilities as described by the site owner.
Worth noting that the road to access the site is very narrow with passing places. We have a 2m wide caravan and had no problem, other drivers were aware and helpful.
Helpful emails from owner.

Disliked: The gate could do with being set back sufficiently to allow car and caravan to pull in and avoid blocking the road whilst opening / closing the gate.
