Kickstands Campground

Take the Black Hills Run if you're anywhere around this part of South Dakota with any sort of wheels, for a viewsome run through the Black Hills National Forest swathed over south-western South Dakota and north-eastern Wyoming. Travelling by foot or bicycle, venture out onto the forest along the the 110 miles of the George S. Mickelson Trail, following the abandoned track of the old railroad route from Edgemont to Deadwood. Elsewhere, ride along to world-famed South Dakota highlights like the Mount Rushmore National Memorial, 55 minutes away, and the Crazy Horse Memorial, the biggest mountain carving in the world and commemorating all the country's Native American tribes (an hour and five minutes). Custer State Park (the biggest in South Dakota), Custer and the Jewel Cave National Monument are within 55 minutes to an hour and a half. Drive 25 minutes from the campground to reach Deadwood, the National Historic Landmark District known throughout the world as one of the USA's main Gold Rush towns.
