Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort)

Liked: Welcomed on arrival by the owner , given a choice of pitches .. we stayed on number 22 close to the lake .. what a beautiful view on an evening .
The site is very clean and spacious and offers different options for overnight stays including a motorhome aire.
The showers are hot and there are plenty of plug sockets for straighteners, hairdryers , shavers etc .
We used the washing machine for a small charge of 5 euros.
This really is a family friendly site and also welcomes dogs ...
There is a play area , games and a pool on site, located nearby is a tennis court and by the lake and adventure centre.

The local supermarket , petrol station is directly across the road and the local town is a 15 minutes walk away.

The owner and the staff are really lovely and very approachable .

Would we stay again ..... Absolutely

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort)

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort)

Liked: Large pitches with good privacy. Quiet location with excellent links to nantes. Beautiful lake for walks. Excellent facilities for cycling. Pool is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and approachable. Close to supermarket

Disliked: Following Google maps it tried to direct us down a very narrow track. (No fault of the camp site)

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort)

Liked: Quiet, family oriented campsite next to a lake for canoeing. The pitch was flat and it was well spaced. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy the sun

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort)

Liked: The campsite was very well maintained and easily reachable from the Nantes city centre. Pitches were big enough to fit a car. Very friendly staff and the bathroom facilities were excellent.

Disliked: None that I know

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort)

Liked: Location on (in) the lake

Disliked: Building work was going on at entrance but no signs or anyone to show where to go. Tried another entrance then another camper gave us the barrier code. Still no obvious reception, another camper gave us info, found temporary office - closed. Rang helpline, no answer. Eventually found a nice young man who showed us the pitches available. All were boggy and flooded and we knew heavy thunderstorms were due so we decided not the stay. We were told the washing machine was unavailable, the facilities were very basic and the site was unloved.

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort)

Liked: This was a stopover between Toulouse and Cherbourg, so the location was convenient.

Disliked: Very hard to find reception. Poor signposting around the site (never did find the bins!) Close to roads so not peaceful. A lot of building work being done, and the focus is clearly on chalets rather than camping.
This was the first site I’ve stayed at where I felt I needed to lock my doors.
Facilities weren’t clean.

Electric grass and earth pitch (comfort)

Liked: Site staff, especially young man on reception. Very friendly, polite and helpful.
Good size pitch.
New amenities block. Lots of hot water for both showering and washing dishes.
Good location for cycling.

Disliked: The best way to describe this site is, in transition, and not as described on pitchup e.g no wifi and pool which does not look as if it has been in use for sometime. There is a temporary chemical and grey waste disposal which is not ideal.
However, given what has been done and the work that continues, it is likely to become a very nice site.

Local attractions

For big-city adventures, head for historic Nantes (25 minutes’ drive) to tour the mighty medieval Château des Ducs de Bretagne, towering over the Loire River, and spot the ornate marble tombs of French royalty in the Gothic-style cathedral. Culture all done, hop aboard the gigantic animatronic Grand Éléphant and take a walking tour of the Île de Nantes, before heading to a Place du Bouffay bar for a glass of local Muscadet wine. To see history brought to life in a spectacular way, flit between theatrical extravaganzas – with casts of hundreds – featuring Roman gladiator battles and Viking longboat sieges at Puy du Fou theme park (55 minutes), where you can also watch birds of prey in flight and blacksmiths at work. If a day at the seaside is requested, head to the sweeping bay at La Baule-Escoublac (an hour and 10 minutes), which has beach clubs for the kids and gentle waves safe for swimming. If the tide’s going out, see if you can spot ‘The Ocean Snake’ sculpture by Chinese artist Huang Yong Ping as it appears from the waves at Saint-Brevin-les-Pins (an hour).
